Abstract:
The subject of this project is the development of a computer system to record and to classify miniportraits. A computer system should be able to register these works of art in order to analyse them objectively. Art historians should receive detailed support in making decisions about the classification of these miniportraits. This paper is about methods of modelling 3D-surfaces and about the analysis of colours concerning strokes in portraits. Each artist paints in its own characteristic way. These typical marks should be detected so that the miniportraits can be compared with each other.
